Bức tranh 600.000 USD của Việt Nam

Chuyên gia Singapore ở lại Việt Nam nhiều tuần chỉ để tìm một bức tranh có thể đại diện cho một giai đoạn nghệ thuật ở Đông Nam Á.

Đó là lúc chính phủ Singapore triển khai sáng kiến thập kỷ trị giá 378,5 triệu USD về một không gian trưng bày lớn nhất khu vực, nằm ở hai di tích quốc gia là toà thị chính và toà án tối cao cũ. Điểm đến mang tên Phòng trưng bày quốc gia Singapore, trực thuộc Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Quốc gia Singapore, nhằm giới thiệu các tác phẩm nghệ thuật đặc trưng nhất của quốc đảo và Đông Nam Á từ thế kỷ 19 đến nay.

Người có nhiệm vụ tìm kiếm, thẩm định tác phẩm và tổ chức buổi triển lãm đầu tiên của Phòng trưng bày Quốc gia Singapore với tên gọi Giữa tuyên ngôn và mơ ước là Phoebe Scott. Những nghiên cứu về nền nghệ thuật Việt Nam giai đoạn 1920 – 1950 đã giúp Phoebe Scott trở thành tiến sĩ chuyên ngành Lịch sử nghệ thuật tại Đại học Sydney, đồng thời được bổ nhiệm làm giám tuyển Phòng trưng bày.

Từ năm 2013, ông Eugene Tan, Giám đốc Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Singapore và Phoebe Scott đến Hà Nội nhiều lần để giới thiệu các ý tưởng, nêu mong muốn hợp tác với Bảo tàng Mỹ thuật Việt Nam. Đầu năm 2014, Bộ Văn hoá Thể thao và Du lịch cho phép hai bên ký kết thoả thuận hợp tác, bắt đầu quá trình cho mượn hiện vật trong một năm.

Để chuẩn bị cho ngày khai trương phòng trưng bày, Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Quốc gia Singapore muốn sưu tập thêm một bức tranh sơn mài, dù đã có nhiều tác phẩm của các nghệ sĩ Việt. Giữa năm 2014, Phoebe Scott quyết định dành một tháng ở Hà Nội để tìm kiếm bức tranh mong muốn.

Trong số hàng nghìn tác phẩm đang được Bảo tàng Việt Nam lưu giữ, hai bên cùng nhau lựa chọn một bức tranh có thể đại diện cho cả giai đoạn, vừa là cơ hội giới thiệu nghệ thuật sơn mài ra thế giới. Sau nhiều tuần cân nhắc, các chuyên gia hai nước thống nhất chọn tác phẩm Bình minh trên nông trang của hoạ sĩ Nguyễn Đức Nùng.

“Bức tranh đặc biệt bởi cách xử lý sơn mài đẹp, nhân vật người nông dân toát lên vẻ anh hùng, mang tính biểu tượng những năm 1950 – 1960. Đây là sự bổ sung quan trọng cho các tác phẩm nghệ thuật từ Việt Nam trong bộ sưu tập của Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Quốc gia Singapore”, Tiến sĩ Phoebe Scott nói.    

Bức tranh được định giá bảo hiểm 600.000 USD vào năm 2015, miêu tả cảnh người đàn ông với thân hình rắn rỏi ra ruộng làm việc vào buổi bình minh, khi ánh nắng sớm đang ló rạng qua những đám mây. Tác phẩm được thể hiện trên chất liệu sơn mài, với những nguyên liệu đặc trưng của loại hình này là sơn ta, bột điệp, son. Trong đó, vàng thếp được sử dụng để tạo nên màu sắc bầu trời lúc bình minh.

Hoạ sĩ Nguyễn Đức Nùng được biết đến là một trong những hoạ sĩ sơn mài tài năng nhất của nền mỹ thuật hiện đại Việt Nam. Tốt nghiệp trường Cao đẳng Mỹ thuật Đông Dương năm 1938, ông cũng là thế hệ hoạ sĩ đầu tiên tạo nên trào lưu vẽ tranh sơn mài khổ lớn theo phong cách hiện thực xã hội chủ nghĩa.

Để thực hiện bức tranh, hoạ sĩ từng được cho là đã trực tiếp đi cấy ruộng để quan sát động tác của người nông dân, ghi chép độ sáng, tối, sự tương phản của màu sắc trong không gian lúc bình minh.

“Trong bức tranh, chúng ta thấy hình ảnh người nông dân quay lưng về phía người xem. Sự lý tưởng hoá hình ảnh thể hiện trong cơ bắp chắc khoẻ gợi nên ý nghĩa tượng trưng cho đề tài người nông dân trong giai đoạn này. Vùng ánh sáng màu vàng được nhấn mạnh tạo nên tính tượng hình khoẻ khoắn, gợi nên biểu tượng một bình minh chính trị mới ở miền Bắc Việt Nam”, phía Singapore nhận xét. Các chuyên gia tại đây xếp hạng bức tranh là minh chứng quan trọng về vai trò của những hoạ sĩ Đông Nam Á trong công cuộc xây dựng đất nước thời hậu thuộc địa.

Kể lại hành trình của bức tranh, đại diện Bảo tàng Mỹ thuật Việt Nam chia sẻ, chi phí Singapore bỏ ra để mượn bức tranh rất đắt đỏ. Nhiều nhất là bảo hiểm và tiền vận chuyển bằng đường hàng không. Từng bước một phải tuân theo các quy chuẩn quốc tế về vận chuyển tài sản quốc gia. Đồng thời, họ phải cung cấp thông tin chi tiết về toà nhà triển lãm, an ninh, môi trường, số lượng khách tham quan dự kiến. Ngày 19/10/2015, bức tranh rời Việt Nam, chuẩn bị cho buổi khai trương phòng trưng bày quốc gia Singapore vào tháng 11 cùng năm. Từng chi tiết nhỏ về tình trạng tranh được ghi nhận kỹ bởi chuyên gia Việt Nam và Singapore ở cả hai đầu, đảm bảo sự nguyên vẹn của tác phẩm sau mỗi lần di chuyển. 

Theo các tài liệu lịch sử, bức tranh từng có mặt tại triển lãm ở Liên Xô và các nước xã hội chủ nghĩa Đông Âu, nhận được nhiều lời ca ngợi và có vị trí ngang hàng với tác phẩm của các hoạ sĩ Liên Xô cùng thời.

Sau khi Bảo tàng Mỹ thuật Việt Nam được thành lập năm 1962, Hội Mỹ thuật Việt Nam đã bàn giao bức tranh cho Bảo tàng để trưng bày thường xuyên. Bên cạnh đó, Bình minh trên nông trang còn được đưa vào sách giáo khoa Âm nhạc và Mỹ thuật lớp 8, trong phần Sơ lược về mỹ thuật Việt Nam giai đoạn 1954-1975.

Họa sĩ Nguyễn Sỹ Ngọc từng nhận xét: “Bố cục rất táo bạo. Tuy là đứng sấp bóng mà những chi tiết của tấm lưng trần, hai cánh tay được tác giả tập trung diễn đạt với sức rung cảm kỳ diệu. Ánh sáng chỉ hắt vào rất nhẹ bên má, còn tất cả sừng sững như một sức sống thật. Bàn tay phải là một động tác vừa độ, quá lên cao hay xuống thấp đều không đắt”.

Đại học Nghệ thuật Huế phân tích, góc nhìn trong bức tranh có thể miêu tả chi tiết các nét đặc trưng của nhân vật như cơ bắp, trang phục và bối cảnh đồng quê Việt Nam nhằm lột tả sự khoẻ khoắn, lạc quan của người nông dân trong lao động sản xuất.

Các đường ngang, chéo được cho là nhằm tạo sự thay đổi để giảm bớt sự nhàm chán cho mắt, vừa tạo độ xa gần của cảnh vật và không gian. Về mặt thị giác, các đường nét này tạo cảm giác yên tĩnh, thanh thản, gợi ra được vẻ thanh bình vốn có của nông thôn Việt Nam.

Một số đánh giá khác cho rằng, hoạ sĩ đã áp dụng nhiều lần tỷ lệ vàng cho các chủ thể chính, phụ cho tranh. Loại bố cục này thường được tìm thấy trong những tác phẩm kinh điển ở cả Việt Nam và thế giới, tạo ấn tượng về sự hài hoà trong tâm trí người xem.

Tỷ lệ vàng được áp dụng nhiều lần trong bức tranh, từ bối cảnh chung đến tạo hình nhân vật chính.   
Tác phẩm “Thiếu nữ bên hoa huệ” (1943) của hoạ sĩ Tô Ngọc Vân là một trong những ví dụ tiêu biểu về ứng dụng tỷ lệ vàng trong hội hoạ. Lần giao dịch gần đây nhất, bức tranh được bán với giá 200.000 USD.

Bức tranh Bình minh trên nông trang đã về lại Việt Nam ngày 12/12/2016, nhận được hơn một triệu lượt xem khi ở Singapore. 

Trong thời gian khảo sát tại Bảo tàng, phía Singapore còn muốn mượn bức sơn mài Xô Viết Nghệ Tĩnh thực hiện bởi 6 tên tuổi lớn của nền hội hoạ Việt Nam là Nguyễn Đức Nùng, Phạm Văn Đôn, Huỳnh Văn Thuận, Trần Đình Thọ, Nguyễn Sỹ Ngọc và Nguyễn Văn Tỵ.

Tuy nhiên, bức tranh có kích thước chiều ngang lên tới 320 cm nên khó vận chuyển, trưng bày. Kết quả chỉ duy nhất tác phẩm của hoạ sĩ Nguyễn Đức Nùng khi đó đến Singapore. 

Cả hai tác phẩm Bình minh trên nông trang Xô Viết Nghệ Tĩnh đang được trưng bày đối diện nhau tại trung tâm phòng 15, tầng 2, phần giới thiệu bộ sưu tập tranh sơn mài của Bảo tàng Mỹ thuật Việt Nam. Bảo tàng mở cửa từ 8h30 đến 17h hàng ngày, trừ ngày Tết.

Vé tham quan có giá 40.000 đồng một người lớn, 10.000 – 20.000 đồng với trẻ em và học sinh, sinh viên.
