– Cuối 2019 điện ảnh Việt bùng nổ với những bộ phim mang về doanh thu cả trăm tỷ, anh có vạch ra cho mình một mức doanh thu nào với "30 chưa phải Tết" không?

Bây giờ mọi người hay có quan niệm là phim tôi phải trăm tỷ, ngàn tỷ nhưng không để ý cái quan trọng là giá trị nhân văn đem lại cho khán giả. Trường Giang cũng muốn trăm tỷ chứ, ai mà không muốn trăm tỷ, ai mà không muốn mình đạt một kỷ lục nào đó. Người ta quen với một Trường Giang vui nhộn, đôi lúc xàm xí tí để mang lại nụ cười. Nhưng mà mỗi giai đoạn của một con người mình phải khác nhau. Ví dụ như hồi xưa mình tấu hài nhí nha nhí nhố, khi mình lớn hơn mình đóng kịch dài có câu chuyện, bây giờ mình trưởng thành có vợ con rồi mình muốn đóng những loại vai mà sau này con mình nó coi lại nó thấy ba nó "trông cũng được ha". Mình có thể đóng hài hoặc không hài, nhưng phải mang lại giá trị tinh thần lớn hơn sau mỗi vai diễn. Tất nhiên mình sẽ không chọn hẳn con đường này, khi có vai diễn hài phù hợp mình vẫn sẽ đóng nhưng chắc chắn làm bật được tiếng cười thông qua câu chuyện chứ không phải những mảng miếng nhí nhố, những câu đùa giỡn bâng khua. Mình phải trưởng thành hơn.

Trước đây khi chưa có con mình nghĩ về gia đình khác lắm. Thậm chí khi lấy vợ rồi mình cũng nghĩ về gia đình nhưng nó không hay bằng việc có con. Làm bố, mình muốn cho con thấy mình điều mình làm hơn là dạy cho nó phải làm cái này, cái kia. Giống như việc tôi đi theo anh Hoài Linh, anh Linh làm gì có thời gian mà dạy từng chút, dạy diễn ông già phải đi đứng ra sao. Mỗi lần anh lên sân khấu ai chăm chỉ là quan sát rồi đúc kết thành nét diễn riêng cho mình. Sau này con mình cũng vậy, nó xem phim bố nó đóng cũng nhân văn, cảm xúc, vậy mà người ta nói hồi trẻ bố nó quậy lắm. Đó là cách tạo được lòng tin cho con, mà con tin mình rồi thì uốn nắn sẽ dễ hơn rất nhiều.

– Anh nói mình đã trưởng thành. Sự trưởng thành ấy đến từ việc anh đã có vợ, có con hay từ việc anh sống sót qua scandal?

Không phải vì scandal mà trưởng thành, không phải vì có con nên phải trưởng thành mà vì đã đến lúc suy nghĩ của mình phải chín lên. Mình muốn làm cái gì cũng phải thực tâm thực lòng. Mình không ép mỗi ngày phải đi quay, mà mình đi quay vì thích, vì muốn cái game ấy phải hay nhất. Mình gần 40 tuổi rồi, mình không thể làm những việc vô nghĩa hay những việc mà mình không thích được. Mình cần phải làm tốt cái việc mà mình thích, để có thể truyền được cảm hứng đến cộng đồng.

– Làm bố tuyệt vời như thế tại sao suốt 1 năm đầu, không thấy Trường Giang chia sẻ về việc đã có con?

Dư luận người ta thường có thói quen xăm soi nên vợ chồng tôi thống nhất với nhau không nhắc nhiều về con, không khoe con lên mạng xã hội để bé phải nhận những bình luận tiêu cực từ một số người. Con nít có tội gì đâu, nên tôi quyết định để con có một cuộc sống bình thường. Cho đến khi bé lớn hơn, vợ chồng yên tâm để cởi mở hơn với những người xung quanh.

Nói thiệt, tôi có rất nhiều clip, hình ảnh của con mà vợ cứ đòi đăng lên mạng nhưng tôi đâu có cho. Tôi nói với Nhã Phương: Anh biết là em đang rất hạnh phúc, em muốn khoe hạnh phúc đó với những bà mẹ khác nhưng thôi cứ đợi con trưởng thành hơn chút nữa rồi hẳng khoe con với mọi người. Vợ bã mê con lắm, đi đâu bã cũng ôm con hoài à. Người ta nói ôm con nhiều không tốt mà bã vẫn cứ ôm, ngủ phải ngủ với bã, hai mẹ con ôm nhau ngủ suốt.

– Từ khi làm bố, anh thấy mình đã thay đổi như thế nào?

Nhiều chứ, trước đi làm về thoải mái la cà, nhậu nhẹt với bạn bè còn giờ chỉ muốn về với vợ con thôi. Nhiều lúc về nhà vợ hỏi sao anh không uống bia đi, cái nói thôi. Vậy mà vợ cũng cắt miếng chả bò, lấy lon bia chồng uống hai mẹ con ngồi ngó. Sau khi làm cha, vợ chồng trò chuyện nhiều hơn, cùng nhau nấu ăn rồi chỉ cho con con cá, con cua, vui lắm, có con cái biết liền à.

– Gia đình có 1 người là người nổi tiếng đã bận bịu, vất vả huống hồ cả hai vợ chồng đều là những ngôi sao với công việc riêng. Làm thế nào để Trường Giang – Nhã Phương sắp xếp thời gian cho nhau và cho con gái?

Sắp được hết. Tổng thống Mỹ còn sắp xếp được thời gian cuối tuần đưa vợ con đi chơi nữa huống gì là mình. Chồng đi làm thì vợ ở nhà, chồng về rồi vợ có việc đi đâu thì đi. Nói chung phải luôn có một trong hai bên cạnh con, cho con ăn, con bú… Biết là cả hai vợ chồng đi làm vẫn có người chăm nhưng không bằng bố mẹ được, con phải có cái hơi của bố mẹ mới tốt. Sáng đi mình dòm nó cái, khuya về mình ôm hôn nó cái không nó ngủ mất tiêu. Bỏ con ra mướn người chăm thì dễ rồi nhưng cái sự gắn kết gia đình mới thực sự quan trọng.

– Nhã Phương có phải là một người vợ đảm và là một người mẹ khéo léo không?

Bã khéo léo và chăm con kỹ lắm. Lúc nào con cũng quấn lấy mẹ thôi. Chiều 29 Tết rồi bã đang bận cho con ăn súp cá hồi dưới nhà đó.

– Nhưng người ta vẫn nói chăm con kỹ quá sẽ khiến bé khó tự lập ở độ tuổi lớn hơn một chút?

Mình chỉ bao bọc con ở độ tuổi đang phải tiếp nhận mọi thứ từ cuộc sống. Mình cố gắng cho con những thứ tốt nhất, chỉ có con cái này cái kia. Chẳng hạn như gia đình có một khu vườn ở quận 7 trồng các loại rau, lúc rảnh vợ chồng sẽ đưa con sang chỉ cho bé đây là rau xà lách nè, cây này cây chuối, cây này cây ổi nè… Sau này con lớn con sẽ tự mình làm hết chứ không có chuyện lên 7, 8 tuổi vẫn bón cơm, không có đâu.

– Vậy đến thời điểm nào anh nghĩ là thích hợp để khoe hình ảnh bé đến khán giả?

Không phải là con mình xấu hay đẹp hay có gì đó mà mình không khoe. Mình giữ là giữ cho tất cả mọi người thôi, chứ con mình là niềm hạnh phúc lớn lao mà, mình cũng khoái chia sẻ lắm. Nhưng mình muốn con mình bình thường như bao người khác. Tập cho con là con nhà bình thường chứ không phải con Trường Giang – Nhã Phương. Lớn lên nó biết nó là con của người nổi tiếng là sống tầm bậy. Đến khi con đủ trưởng thành để hiểu ba mẹ nó cũng là người bình thường thì mình sẽ tự khắc muốn mọi người biết nhiều hơn về bé. Chứ con nghệ sĩ cũng có người giỏi, người hư – nó tưởng nó quậy đã có ba mẹ nó lo, như vậy đâu có được.

– Nay đã 29 Tết, vợ chồng Trường Giang đã chuẩn bị được đến đâu và đón Tết như thế nào?

Năm nào Nhã Trường Giang cũng đón Tết đơn giản, không cầu kỳ. Mình đi diễn xuyên Tết từ mùng một, hai ba nên hai mẹ con đón Tết với nhà nội, đến mùng 4 thì về nhà ngoại sau đó trở lại TP.HCM đón Tết ngay trong chính nhà mình. Tết của nghệ sĩ cũng đơn giản thôi, nhưng vui vì có vợ có con đợi mỗi ngày đi diễn về.
